General Rental Terms

Driver's age: Minimum driver's age is 23 years provided that he has a driver's license for at least 3 years.

Driver's License: The renter and all authorized drivers must hold a valid driver's license and present it along with an ID or passport during the vehicle pick-up process. All driving licenses are accepted regardless of country and date of issue. No International Driving Permit is needed and the driving license of the driver's country of origin is sufficient.

Additional Driver(s): There is no charge for adding additional driver(s).

Booking Confirmation: To reserve the car, the advance payment, mentioned in the booking, must be paid via PayPal or bank transfer. Otherwise, the reservation is not considered confirmed and the car may not be available.

Payment methods: Upon pick up of the car, the total amount of the reservation is paid in cash, credit or debit card after deducting the advance payment. All credit and debit cards are accepted.

We would like to inform you that, despite our constant efforts to ensure that all prices displayed on our website are accurate, errors may occasionally occur due to system failure. In this case, we will inform you as soon as possible if we discover an error in the price of your reservation and give you the opportunity to confirm it, if you wish, at the current correct price or to cancel it. Normal cancellation charges will not apply if you choose to cancel your booking. If you cancel and you have already paid for your c car rental, you will receive a full refund. If we are unable to contact you, we will consider your booking as cancelled.

Guarantee: No deposit is required and no amount is held on the credit/debit card upon collection of the car.

Changes in car type: Kronos Car Rental reserves the right, subject to availability, to provide a different car type from the one originally booked with one of a similar or higher category.

Change of Reservation: A reservation can be changed free of charge up to 24 hours before the start of the rental (subject to availability). If the change results in a lower rental cost the difference is non-refundable.

Cancellation: A reservation can be canceled up to 14 days before the start of the rental. In the event of cancellation, the advance payment for the rental is fully refunded. Cancellations can be made by sending an email to info@santorini-car-rental.info.

Non Show: In the event that the reserved vehicle is not picked up at the agreed time, the rental amount already paid it's not refundable.

Insurance (Basic): All Kronos Car Rental authorized car drivers are insured against third party liability for death, injuries and property damage. Coverage is subject to the general terms of Kronos Car Rental's contract with its Insurance company.

Exemption from liability (Safe – Premium CDW): The renter's liability for damage to the rental vehicle can be limited to the maximum amount of €600 for the Mini, Economy, Standard, Premium categories and €800 for the Compact, SUV/4x4, Mini Bus categories by paying the amount of €10 per rental day. Damage to the undercarriage and wheels are not covered.

The renter can limit his responsibility even more (PREMIUM CDW) to the maximum amount of €300 for the Mini, Economy, Standard, Premium and €500 for the Compact, SUV/4x4, Mini Bus categories by paying the amount of €20 per rental day.

Road Assistance: Free 24/7 roadside assistance is provided.

Different pick up and drop off locations: It is possible to drop off the car to a different location than the pick up location at no additional charge beyond the charges relating to the specific drop off location and expressly stated below.

Pick up - drop off at the port (ferry boats): Kronos Car Rental offers free 24/7 pick up / drop off of the car at its office in the port of Athinios(ferry boats).

Pick up - drop off at the airport: Kronos Car Rental offers free 24/7 pick up / drop off at the airport. For pick up at the airport, the customer is welcomed outside the arrivals building by an authorized employee of the company.

Pick up - drop off at the Old Port (cruise boats): The Old Port cannot be accessed by car and the pick up / drop off of the car takes place in Fira. For the specific pick up / drop off locations there is an additional charge of €12.50 per service. It is not possible to pick up / drop off the car to this location during the period from 16/5 to 15/9.

Pick up - drop off at a hotel or other other location: Pick up / drop off of the car at a hotel or any other place beyond the above mentioned is free of charge in the period from 1/1 to 15/5 and from 16/9 to 31/12. For the period from 16/5 to 15/9 there is an additional charge of €30 per service and it the pick up / drop off only takes place before 9.00 and after 17.00.

Child, baby and infant seats: Free seats are available for all ages upon reservation.

Gasoline policy: The car is returned with the same amount of gas that was received.

Additional cleaning fee: Applies if upon return the vehicle needs cleaning beyond the usual to prepare for the next rental. The biological cleaning fee is €100 (plus VAT 24%). For cases where we need to clean a seat, a child's seat and not the entire living room, the fee is €50 (plus VAT 24%).

Fines and violations: All fines and administrative penalties resulting from the fault of the driver are fully borne by the lessee.

Transport by ship: Transport of the vehicle by ship is not permitted.

Taxes: All prices and charges include applicable taxes.
